The challenge

B1 Creative were tasked with creating a compelling online offering in a small budget and time frame; four weeks before the grand opening we got to work. An illustrator in a past profession, Ramona created the brand guidelines herself. It was important to use these unique assets while also creating a luxurious design. 


As with all of our projects, we started with a conversation. The Mud Room spent a half day in our studio discussing what their goals were and what pain points their customers experience with competitors. We identified a straight-forward booking process was going to be key. Their budget didn’t stretch to a custom build, so we sourced a few options for them which we set up and allowed The Mud Room team to trial while we worked on other aspects of the site. We laid out wireframes to aid content creation and our content team helped amalgamate content from existing flyers and social posts. All the content was edited to have the same tone of voice.  

From there we created visuals for the pages. Simple, effective design would ensure the site was easy to navigate for customers but also easy for the salon to keep updated. We centralised all pricing information so that any changes to services would only need to be edited in one place but would automatically appear throughout the website.  

After trialling a number of options we landed on Square Appointments as the right platform for managing bookings. Our technical team sat down with the client to walk them through how to set up the services and various marketing automation options in Square. In the first few weeks they took over 100 bookings.  


It is important for us to support small business and enthusiastic entrepreneurs. Every business has its own set of challenges but through creative thinking we can work out routes that overcome these and fit the client’s budget, allowing them to grow. B1 Creative has set this local pet grooming business up for success and we look forward to continuing to work with Ramona and her team towards a successful future.   

By partnering with clients in this way we are on hand to advise, increment and iterate over time, meaning they are always evolving and creating the best service they can for their customers. We have created tools to help them be self-sufficient but will continue to support everything from Google Business Listing management to Social Media Content.
